Audion Innovision has announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Grande Group, which will see the company re-launch well known electronics brand Akai back to Australian consumers.
Audion are pleased to welcome the Akai brand to their vendor portfolio as Jamie Cox, Sales and Marketing Director, comments,
"Being appointed the exclusive distributor for Akai enables Audion to develop a strong presence in the home entertainment and consumer electronics market, with a well known international brand that has a rich history of innovation in both audio and video technology."
The agreement will see Audion offer an extensive range of home entertainment products, including flat panel LCD televisions and portable midi solutions, with plans to expand the range into portable audio solutions, personal video recording devices and other CE products over the coming year.
Akai's roots stem back to 1929 Tokyo when a young Masukichi Akai - motivated by his close brush with death in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 - set about renovating his back yard shed into a makeshift workshop equipped with only a dozen or so files, a drill and a micrometer.
Almost eight decades later, Akai prides itself on combing advanced technology with its unique expertise in consumer electronics to offer quality home entertainment products, specializing in audio and video technology. Today, the Akai brand name stands on a truly global scale as a cost effective provider of home appliances, video equipment and mobile sound technology.
The Akai product range will be shipping from July 2008, available from leading retailers from August 2008.
