February 2008
Melbourne, Australia

STARTS
In the last 2 months AFO has been pushing to represent Audion in as many facets of competitive gaming that it can sustain, with each team well aware of the commitment necessary and the responsibility of what it entails.  They are welcoming two new teams to the AFO ranks to represent them in Enemy Territory and Counter Strike 1.6.  Both games have had ladders ran for years and both of the teams have been around since the beginning of them.

Enemy Territory Team:

Only reforming recently as Endurance gaming the members have been playing together off and on for around 4 years.  They have seen the game change quite a lot but it hasn’t changed their enthusiasm to compete.  They come together once again as long time friends to rekindle there thirst for action in ET as they push themselves to top the ladder at Gamearena.  AFO has welcomed them wholeheartedly and are proud to include such heritage amongst their ranks.

Here are a few words from the AFO ET Captain, PedroAlonso –

"I would like to thank AFO for the opportunity to represent them in Enemy Territory, a game that we've devoted so much time into and have had a blast playing competitively over the years. Although the ET community is a lot more centralised than what it was in its early days, we will continue to play ET until the inevitable transition to RTCW2 approaches in the near future, where our vivid memories of epic matches will be relived once more. Thanks again."

Counter Strike 1.6 Team:

As old as CS1.6 is so is the team from Crazy.au.  The buzz around 1.6 has always been solid even despite its predecessor and still is part of WCG Tournaments due to the sheer competency and skill set needed that to this day still attracts a crowd.  Crazy.au want further there opportunities under AFO to help them establish a presence in CS that has only been covered in Source over the last year.  Their presence amongst the AFO ranks now completes AFO’s presence within the CS community as AFO lays down the foundations for the future in some of the most competitive areas of lan and online gaming.

Here are a few words from AFO’s CS 1.6 Captain, TK –

On behalf of team crAzy.au, we would like to thank AFO for presenting us with the opportunity to be apart of their organisation. After many successful years as crAzy.au, we look forward to expanding our skills and being apart of what the future holds for AFO.”

In other news:

With AFO’s CSS team’s recent invite to CEVO professional league, the pressure on the lads has just solidified there resolve for the year ahead.  Having been given the opportunity to be apart of such a group a lot of the communities attitude towards the team showed a lot of doubt whether they could compete amongst such calibre.

Their first match up was against Qlimax crew, a team well known around the traps and titles hitched on there to match.  The AFO lads were quietly confident however knew they had to keep it in check to ensure there focus wouldn’t falter come game night.  Last night AFO CSS team finished there first round in CEVO Professional downing QMX 16-0!!! AFO is the only team to ever beat QMX without losing a single round in a match.

Words from AFO’s CSS Captain, Shaunske –

“After going through some minor issues in the past week, we were able to keep our cool come game time. The first round of the CEVO professional ladder went massively in our favour. We have been rated lower in terms of playing ability by Qlimax and other community members, but this victory really now sets things straight in our own heads that we are capable of mixing it up within the pro league.  We most certainly won’t be leaving it at that, its only the start, but a good one, as we build up our confidence going into the next round. We stand in a position to keep fighting strong, aiming to get the same result in our next match. I wish my teammates Good luck, and we hope there is more similar results like that too come.”

With the current momentum unparalleled in AFO’s history there clan leader, Riddick is proud to have such an enthusiastic bunch to lead, despite the new pressures on him, he welcomes the challenge.

Words from AFO Clan leader, Riddick -

“With the new additions to AFO, we will never be short of inspiration from a group of gamers with such history in their respected games.  Now to have them amongst the rest of the AFO lads it will go along way to help increase our depth and longevity.

With such seasoned members amongst us, such experience is vital to our future and our goals.  The future is looking bright and I welcome the challenge of pushing all our teams towards new heights and helping our members personally achieve things beyond what any title could bring.”
